THE ONE PHOTO PROJECT

For over 100 years, photography was a chemical process and photographers traditionally used film, chemicals and darkrooms to produce their images. Over the past decade photography has changed considerably and the digital revolution has made photography accessible to everyone.

This mass of images has consumed the Internet and less photographs are printed. It could be argued that the integrity of the medium has diminished.

With over 200 contributions, The One Photo project was aimed at anyone with an interest in photography and/or community projects in which participants have the opportunity to be part of something. The main goal of the project was to create a collaborative, public photography project centered on gathering photographs from participants from all over the world.

The purpose of the project was to share 'One Photo' that means something, with the rest of the world to be put into a publication and never lost. The concept was based around the idea that a forgotten, lost photograph is a forgotten, lost memory.
