Jasper is known as the jewel of the rockies, located in Jasper National Park near the British Columbia/Alberta border.

 

During our time here, we stayed at Tekarra Lodge in a traditional built log cabin. With its rustic charm, log fire and quaint nature, this was probably the cosiest cabin that we stayed in on our travels. It was once visited by Marylin Monroe when she filmed ‘River of No Return’ in 1953, with co-star Robert Mitchum.

 

Jasper is situated in Western Alberta with so many places to explore including Jasper town, Athabasca Falls, the Columbia Ice Field, Maligne Canyon and Maligne Lake, where you can take a cruise and view Spirit Island, named by the Stoney Nation indigenous people, a world-famous destination only accessible by boat.
